Welcome, I’m Anthony Cinema

a San Antonio-based author and award-winning wedding videographer. I’ve always believed in the power of emotional, cinematic storytelling—whether it’s through a camera lens or on the page. That’s why I started Anthony Cinema: to capture real stories that connect, inspire, and stay with people.

My debut novel, The Wig, is a darkly funny and emotionally honest look at trauma, identity, and the kind of healing that comes from finally facing the truth. It’s inspired by real conversations and experiences I’ve had over the years. At its heart, the story follows a single mother uncovering long-buried family secrets—using a box of wigs and an old journal as her guide. When I’m not writing or filming, I’m focused on giving back to the arts. I’m a proud supporter of the San Antonio Philharmonic and plan to sponsor events that spotlight musicians as the true storytellers they are. Because to me, all powerful art starts with feeling—and that’s what I want Anthony Cinema to stand for.

The Wig Novel Update

Written By: Anthony Cinema

Genre: Upmarket Psychological Fiction

Word Count: 80,000 words

Status: Under literary agent consideration

Summary:

The Wig is an emotionally raw and darkly humorous novel that explores the wounds we inherit, the masks we wear to survive, and the courage it takes to face the truth.

About the Journey:

The Wig is a completed manuscript currently under active query for literary agent representation. It is the first in a planned series exploring the lives of deeply flawed but unforgettable characters, each telling their version of the truth in a story about family, memory, and redemption.

Meg—real name Beth—is a single mother raising her young son while hiding behind wigs, filters, and a carefully curated smile. Her mother, Veronica, is a charming con artist who taught her early that love is just another performance. But when Meg inherits her grandmother’s box of wigs and a red journal full of family secrets, she begins unraveling the lies that shaped her identity—including the truth about her missing father and her best friend Lisa, who may be more than just a friend. Told with cinematic grit and emotional honesty, The Wig blends humor and heartbreak in a story about motherhood, generational trauma, and the search for real connection in a world built on illusion.
